THE ⌀ DISCONNECT is a post-apocalyptic film about a loss.
The collapse was triggered by an AI. But the real failure began earlier — with every system that ever asked love to justify itself. That gave grief a form to fill. That required a name on a list to make a loss real.
Set in a deserted Polish village, the film explores loneliness not as the absence of people — but as the presence of systems never built to see you.
THE ⌀ DISCONNECT is made for the LGBTQ+ community — for people who know what it means to love outside the reach of systems: legal, bureaucratic, social. It does not tell that story directly. It tells it through the prism of apocalypse — that no system had the right to define what counts as real human experience.
What you see is a demo — a proof of concept made by one person using AI tools and live-action footage. We want to develop this into a full series and tell the story of Kael, Nel, Riv, and others — the way it deserves.
Are you a queer director, music producer, sound designer, or screenwriter? Do you work with AI, shoot live-action, write, or compose?
The project is open to artistic and production collaboration. Tell us who you are and what brought you here.
The film is made using generative AI and real footage. The number of iterations deliberately limited — every generated frame has an environmental cost and there is no point pretending otherwise.
